Communications: Fluid Thoughts

I found this particular workshop to be my personal favourite in that it presented to me a completely different way of representing my thoughts and representing architecture. For me, charcoal was a very different way of expressing myself, having never used charcoal before, it became a very interesting medium of representation. Also seeming very juvenile in my earlier representations of the Opera House, I tried hard to improve my work, in conjunction with the creation of my own drawing style, which incorporated my 'heavy-handedness' with my drawings as well as the use of smudging to create a dark, almost ghost like appearance to my drawings, which I found to be very satisfying.

My final presentation centred around the theme of blackness which protrayed a very bold outlook to my drawings, I felt that a black border best showcased my drawings, even those drawings which weren't so great.

All in all, my favourite part of the workshop was the collaborative exercise which was done with our team mates. A short 10-20 minute drawing was made, and then it was up to use to create a whole different landscape with the drawings which would incorporate the 4 completely diferent representations. I found this to be a great challenge, yet one which was extremely fun, and fulfilling by end because of the result which was created.
